8 minutes idle is a dark comedy adapted from the award-winning novel by Bristol based author Matt Thorne. It tells the story of Dan (Tom Hughes) who is kicked out of his home at the tender age of 20 by his mother. Accompanied by his most prized possessions (his cat John, a spiderman pillow and his ipod), he moves into his office, a failing call center, where he has some suprising encounters.  

Production Design

Upon reading the script ’8 minutes idle’, it became immediately evident that the main challenge for the production designer of this film was to design a fitting set  for the call center, in which 70% of the script takes place, and therefore the main backdrop for the feature.
